Application Process

The Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. - Kappa Lambda Sigma Chapter Scholarship application must be completed and submitted electronically using the link below by April 15, 2026. Selection and Notification

All completed applications will be reviewed by the Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. - Kappa Lambda Sigma Chapter Scholarship Committee. Scholarship recipients will be selected based on eligibility requirements, completeness of the application, and overall quality of submitted materials.
Selected recipients will be notified following the application review process. Additional details regarding scholarship award distribution will be provided at the time of notification.

Criteria and Eligibility

This scholarship is open to all eligible students, regardless of gender.
Applicants must be pursuing a two- or four-year degree at an accredited college or institution and maintain a minimum "C" average or 2.0 GPA.
Applicants must submit an essay of at least 250 words. "The Kappa Lambda Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. is committed to education, leadership, and service. Share an experience, challenge, or influence that motivated you to pursue higher education. Explain how your educational goals reflect a commitment to personal growth, responsibility, or giving back to your community." The essay must be original and written in the applicant's own words.
Applicants must upload an unofficial transcript or academic record showing courses and grades. **High school applicants must also include attendance information. If attendance is not listed on the transcript, a separate attendance report must be uploaded.
Selected recipients must provide proof of enrollment or registration at an accredited institution prior to the release of scholarship funds. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the institution and applied toward textbooks or required academic supplies.

Instructions

Applicants must complete all required sections of the application and upload all requested documents. Final candidates may be contacted for a personal interview with the Scholarship Fund Committee, which may be conducted remotely. Selected recipients may be asked to attend a scholarship recognition and presentation.
